Your Body & Being: Sack of Meat or Sea of Qi?

Does your perspective of your body come from Newtonian physics or Quantum physics?

Do you understand yourself - your cells - as a meat bag or a living river of energy?

Your Body According to Newtonian physics = the world is seen and touched. Your body is flesh, blood, muscles, organs, tendons and bones held together by a sack of skin. It's dense, slow to change, and (because time only moves in one direction) in a state of decline.

From this perspective when something goes wrong, you get yourself to a doctor who fixes that part.

From this perspective while adjoining parts, like your elbow and your bicep, work together, other parts, like your elbow and your kidney have very little to do with each other.

From this perspective you’re an individual entity, separate from your environment.

Your Body According to Quantum Physics = the world is a dynamic field of energy. Your body is 99% empty space, with little bits of matter. And even the matter moves and vibrates constantly.

From this perspective your body is an ecosystem in a constant state of flux - continually repairing and renewing itself at the cellular level.

From this perspective the health of each system in your body affects all others. When your digestion improves, everything from immunity to fertility to mood can improve as well.

From this perspective there is no separation between the body and mind.

From this perspective the health of your inner ecosystem is directly connected to your environment – the quality of such inputs as clean air, food, water, media, relationships, as well as the volume of each will radically affect your health. When you upgrade any of the inputs to your ecosystem, you have the potential to affect your whole body and being.

Three of the most important inputs to upgrade are breathing, moving, and handling stress.

As someone committed to being on a growth path in order to live a wholehearted life I'm playing with qigong this summer. In the process I'm upgrading my breath, movement, and stress-management inputs...and I'm inviting you to experience this powerful form of self-healing with me.

Qigong has been shown to be powerful medicine for arthritis, chronic pain, high blood pressure, fatigue, diabetes, and cancer side effects, while boosting your immunity, energy, bone density, sleep, mood, and balance.
